Almaty International Airport is good, neat, clean, and well-managed. It is located quite close to the city centre, which makes travel convenient. It’s better to take a Yandex taxi, as it’s cheaper and more reliable — local taxis may charge higher prices. You can easily buy a SIM card at the airport
Almaty still remains Kazakhstan's largest city and the airport fits this status. I remember Almaty Airport back in 2004 and it was... not as good, let's put it mildly. Today, ALA is really good. The airport is not too big yet it has, I believe, everything a modern airport has to have. Nice check-in

I have been to a huge number of airports - big and small. But this one is the best by far - WiFi- flawless. Best airport WiFi ever - kids play area - even a room for pets 🫶 I really love it.
